Baccarat Rules Quick Nav:
Baccarat is a card game that has possibly the simplest set of rules of all the card games you’ll find at a casino. It has many similarities to Blackjack, but is actually much simpler to learn. Some people have avoided learning to play baccarat due to its reputation as the exclusive domain of the very rich. But baccarat is fast losing that reputation, and becoming one of the most popular games at casinos. Here you’ll find a comprehensive set of baccarat rules to follow as you learn about this interesting and exciting game. Baccarat is such an easy game to learn, and learning while playing online has a great advantage. You won’t have to worry about delaying other players, having the banker wait for you to place your bet, or wagering your hard-earned money. You can relax and take your time to learn the baccarat rules at your own pace. You can take advantage of the free online baccarat game that our affiliates offers by downloading the casino software suite to your computer and playing from the comfort of your own home. We offer 6-deck baccarat in both free and real money versions for your enjoyment. In the game of baccarat there must be at least one player to play against the banker who also acts as the card dealer. Baccarat rules state that the object of this game is to reach a point total as close to 9 as possible over the course of a 2-3 card hand. Both the player and the banker are dealt two cards initially, beginning with the player, and the hand that obtains the point total closest to 9 without going over, wins. The point values of the cards are very simple to follow. All 10’s and face cards have a value of zero, and all other cards (Ace through 9) are worth their face value (Aces are always worth 1). When the total of two or more cards is greater than 10, the point total is reduced by 10. For example if a hand is dealt an 8 and a 6, resulting in a total of 14, 10 is subtracted, leaving a point total of 4 for that hand. You can see that baccarat rules are very easy to learn, and as simple as the point values of the baccarat hands are, the betting is even simpler. There are only 3 betting options in this game. Each player at the table may bet that the current player’s hand will win, that the banker’s hand will win, or that there will be a tie. Placing a wager on the player’s hand or the banker’s hand will pay the winner at 2 for 1, minus a 5% commission (vigorish) on a winning banker’s hand bet. If you bet that the hands will tie and you win, your wager is paid back at 9 for 1. The baccarat rules that dictate the dealing of a third card in the baccarat game offered by our affiliates are as follows:
Now you can see just how simple baccarat rules are to learn. With only three betting options, and two hands to keep track of, you can be playing like a pro in no time at all, especially with the baccarat game included in our software suite. So take the opportunity to get some free practice, right in your own home. Once you feel like you’ve mastered the game, you can switch to real money mode, and put your new found experience to the test.
